Starting from 10 p.m. on Friday until 5 a.m. on Monday (if the weather is okay), parts of I-35W will be shut down. They’re doing this because they’re fixing things in Bloomington and Richfield.

If you’re heading south, you won’t be able to use I-35W between Highway 62 and 106th Street, including the ramps. And if you’re going north, they’re closing I-35W between I-494 and Highway 62 for the whole weekend. Plus, they’ll also close it between 106th Street and I-494 from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

For those going north on I-35W, they suggest driving on I-35E to Highway 77 and then Highway 62. If you’re going south, they want you to take Highway 77 to the 35W/35E split.

The work won’t stop after the weekend either. The place where I-35W and I-494 meet will keep having construction closures. The ramp for drivers going south on I-35W to westbound I-494 will stay closed until November.

This closing was supposed to happen last weekend, but they had to delay it because of the weather.
